i have been asked to flush and re-fill heating system with inhibitor and anti-freeze... its for a regular customer and although i do powerflushes i have never done one on underfloor heating, and what does he mean by anti freeze? this guy is a marine engineer but retired - very very knowledgable and a lovely chap so dont want to turn down the job but also dont want to look a total numpty when it comes to the underfloor heating being flushed and i need to know what anti freeze he is on about?

hes a keen internet buff so put this in the plumbers arms for a bit of privacy

cheers in advance lads

Yes do each circuit separate
Don't use a flushing machine just connect the mains on to manifold with a hose going out then just let the mains flush it out then close each circuit with clean water in and move on to next one
Then if there is a rad anywhere fill with the antifreeze and let mix
There is normally conections on manifold to connect to

And you can shut off each circuit separately? Using the actuators? If there isn't a rad on the circuit how would u suggest doing it? I'll check out the sentinel stuff too cheers DG

The actuators are off unless calling for heat if you can get me a pic of the manifold I'd be able to tell you more

If no rad then you will have to get a pump and pump in as you pump out water till antifreeze in then just shut off and pressurise that is if it's a sealed system
