Hi,

I am installing a Franke AX160 1+½ bowl sink. It is replacing an existing sink in an existing base unit. I want to install the under sink plumbing so that the exit waste water exits into the existing site of the drainage pipe which is just 15cm below the sink waste exit. I need something that will enable me to extend downwards the right angle joint onto which the ‘U’ bend fits so that it takes the ‘U’ bend lower giving me more space above to get the plumbing in. Any suggestions?

Mike

try a mcalpine ssk1 bowl 1/2 waste kit.

Thanks for the tip but that doesn't solve me problem - I need some way of extending the U bend downwards from the right angle coming out of the back of the unit. I need an extension piece that would fit into the right angle and also fir into the U bend (if such a things exists)

Discard all that existing waste kit, fit each bowl with a 1 1/2" p trap (one trap with an integrated spigot if neccessary) and then use a tee and selection of bends to get to the waste pipe. You may need to work through a few different arrangements before you get one that fits.

wow - that's 'thinking outside the box,' I'll try that, thanks

Those kits are usually supplied with the sinks. They are sh**e and always end up in the skip, much easier to use normal waste fittings.

couldn't have said it better myself. Franke make great stuff but the undersink grey piping gubbins they give you always ends up in the bin here too

Hi,

Just to let you know that your suggested solution worked perfectly.

I'd been struggling for 5 days to find a solution, I'd bought all manner of fitting and consulted several local plumbers merchants. I am extremely grateful for your help.

THANK YOU

Mike
