ok so heres another somewhat uncertain area. im fitting a heatslave combi next week, and the customer wants it in the utility room. The room is approx 8ft x 10ft with a upvc back door and a upvc window. it has a flat roof of some descript. The owner is going to half the room somehow to incorperate a downstairs w/c for an elderly occupant, so the room will have a radiator. so not completely unheated, but when heating is off probably one of the coldest rooms. does anyone think that frost protection is still required ????

cheers Gray for the reply. well i had already purchased the frost kit, but wasnt really too sure if it was neccessary, with having "adequate" insulation etc. doesnt bother me if i fit it or not, just dont want to fit an unneccesary product, @ the customers cost of course !!

Well it's really dependent on if you think there is a chance it would be used
Ie do there scrimp on heat
Bad insulation ect

cheers folks for all the replies. the property is occupied, or will be by a less mobile elderly couple, the type who have the heating on 24 hrs a day. But like mentioned, it covers me for any unforseen in the future.
thanks again ppl.

if you have it already then its covered. and tell them wat it does because it might give you that edge that "the other" plumber didnt mention etc etc so you will stick in there mind as being good and thinking. maybe more work.

also it makes stuff better and easier for older people. and i believe anything that helps them should be done.

Spot on fit it and then you can forget it, don't fit it and that job will play on your mind. IMO all pipes in colder areas should be lagged or even retro lagged :speechless: With the colder winters we are getting better be safe than sorry.....
