Hi all,

if anyone can give me any advice I'd be really grateful as I feel I'm at a bit of a dead end at the moment. I have my NVQ level 3 and I'm working for a plumbing and drainage company at the moment in which I'm quite experienced and knowledgable, but I'm finding the work a bit limiting and central heating & gas is what I'd really like to be doing. I do have my CCN1 and all the add on qualifications but not much experience or confidence to be applying for jobs in that area, what would you reccomend I need to do to get my foot in the door or if anyones in a similar situation and managed to get the experience?

Thanks, Tommy.

Hi Tommy,
I think the best option for you is to brave it and put together a CV. To me you sound like you have a good shot at landing an installer job for central heating. Your experience isnt everything, employers will expect to train you and you wont be working alone. Many of your skills can be directly applied already, you might want to get yourself a book and read up on different system designs and common faults.
