One of my work mates has a house built late 50's with what he described as a galvanised cold water supply pipe. Did they really use galvanised steel for water pipes back then? I suppose it was a cost-saving measure. The question is - with the age of this installation, should he be thinking of replacement? Don't seem to be any issues at present - leave it for another 60 years?
