Gap in outer side of flue where joined

Just want to know if there is a gap in the outer diameter of a flue, is it dangerous?

Not sure I follow but if you mean there is a gap were two outer diameter flue sections meet, yes this is potentionally dangerous and the correct clamp or joining section should be fitted straight away and boiler not used until corrected
The exhaust fumes are going through the center and the outer flue is the air intake for the boiler but must be sealed correctly for numerous reasons

Yes that is what i mean. It looks as if the flue is at too much of an angle and not fitting correctly together. But it does have a collar over the joint. Not sure if that seals it though?

Here lays the man who had a problem with his boiler flue !
And could not make up his mind, what he should do ?
He was told to get it sorted and not to use !
But decided he could do what ever he chose
He hummed and he arr’ed and sucking in the fumes
And now here he lays in one of the family tombs 🙁

Yes! Puddle is right.

Exhaust gases entering the air intake can cause a boiler to burn incorrectly.

Obviously the air for combustion would be polluted with exhaust emissions and cause a shortage of oxygen in the combustion air, which when burnt can produce higher levels of Carbon monoxide.

and here comes the age old question did a gas safe engineer fit this
as stated with draught the poc leaving the boiler are meant to be replaced with fresh air/oxygen if this is contaminated then incoming air will not have the required amount of oxygen leading to carbon monoxide being produced
