Just curious as to who caps the gas where when doing any work on the gas line , personally i cap the gas immediately after the ECV remove the anaconda and cap it at source. I notice others jus place a blanking disc in and others disconnect meter and cap .

fit cont. bond, loosen meter tails, remove outlet side, swing meter out fit blank cap an retighten both ends, technically the correct way is to remove the meter to a safe place and fit dust caps, cap the supply and fit those internal red caps into the meter tail nuts, however i asked a CORGI inspector years ago did he want me to remove completely or swing it out as i normally do, he said technically you shouldnt support the meter on one side only in case it pulls the bracket off the wall, to which i answered i would check how secure the bracket was first and if loose i would fix it properly, he said 10/10 for answer get on with it

If you leave the meter in place, it could theoretically be damaged this way.

you can always be sure the last meter of the day is a quantum meter and no matter how hard you try you trip the blumin thing..... always on a friday tooo.......
