Hi All
I have just purchased a two bed terraced house on the Norfolk coast, at the moment it has economy 7 storage heaters and immersion heater, I want to replace these with some sort of heating system. there is no gas, but gas can be laid on at a cost of £1000, my question is: - What do you think is the cheapest and better system to install.
1) Conveniently Combi Gas Boiler System
2) Electric Combi Boiler System
3) Air Con with heating
4) any other options?

When you say gas laid @ £1k - do you mean mains gas? If you mean LPG - don't do it! You can easily see the cost of electric against gas as the price per kw for each i.e. as a rule of thumb electric is between 2 and 4 times more expensive to run once installed. That sounds like an old electrical system and therefore, especially as ECON7 tariff's designed to use off-peak elec are nowadays not much of a saving versus regular fixed rate elec. If you do not want to calculate theKw/hr costsof heating via the alternative methodswhy not get a few trades people to give you a quote on each system? Hope that helps...
