Hi, just wondering what the consensus is, or regs are concerning the above. I do not remember having covered this during my training. Obviously the Legionella problem is not relevant in this case. But, in the instance of a solid floor, hob sited in middle of property, and a new 22mm supply having to be run to a modern boiler, there is no way to avoid a dead section under floor. I have had a look to see if I can find anything on this. But to no avail. I am GS registered, but don't have 10 posts yet, so cannot access the GS forum.

I should add. Meter is at the front of the house. Boiler at the back. 15mm supply under floors that cannot be accessed, and t'd off for hob somewhere in the middle of property. New supply will go up front outside wall, through loft and down at back of house to boiler. Now, I can cap at meter end, or boiler end, and connect at meter end or boiler end. But either way will leave half the original carcass with an unused leg. I suppose it is just the same as capping off an appliance, which still leaves a viable supply. But, what do you say?

adrian go say hello to a few people in the new members forum at the bottom to get your post count up it'll only take a few minutes then pm gas man or redsaw with your details and you will be admitted to the inner sanctum.

Thanks mountainman. Figured this was probably the case. But always nice to get a second opinion.
Thanks steveb. Will get my posts up and pm Gasman.

same here, if you can remove unneeded pipework I will do, otherwise nothing wrong with capping it as long it passes TT afterwards

If removing old pipe work it should be removed as close as possible to the supply as possible. Pipe work standards.
