Hi Guys, done a landlord safety check yesterday which involved a gas inset fire.
Now the fire had coals missing and the ones there weren't placed correctly. i classed this as AR and made safe... but should it of been ID?

an appliance is only ID if yuo are in immenent danger of dying or being injured, were you? if so ID or due to the fact that the coals were not placed properly/were missing was there a potential for a problem? is so AR, if it passed a spillage test and flame picture was fine then AR

Seen a few fires that were thick with soot due to missing coals so ID'd. But, as kirkgas mentioned as long as spill, flame pict ok and no signs very poor combustion then AR would be correct.
