Getting into plumbing Any advice or help Please

. I am 33 years of age and live in west london and have recently left the UK Armed Services, where I completed nearly eleven years of service and am trying to get back into work on civvy street

I am currently seeking employment in the plumbing/ gas industry.
I completed the City & Guilds 6129 plumbing course, which comprised both practical and theory exams in a workshop based training environment. I have a portfolio with photographic evidence of my work. I also hold a valid BPEC certificate No102177 from the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (water supply fittings regulations 1999 in England and Wales).and will be taking the cscs card this week.
There is extra funding available to me from ELC for plumbing/ gas courses for the next two years but im finding it near on impossible to find any plumbers mate or apprentice jobs i have all my own tools as my father was a plumber up north but has now retired due to ill health and has lost touch with the industry london area would be my preference or any help andadvice would really help cheers alan

A mate of mine left the army a few years and has done what you are planning to do. HE signed up for his ACS at the local test centre and they found him a company to train with and then after he passed the company took him. The local tarining centre's have contacts with all the local firms as they retrain all their blokes every five years.

find out about your nvq 2 as your still getting funding,and yes you will get on.best of luck
