Hi all, am currently waiting to sit my final nvq2 exam at the end of january and am then looking to go on my own and try toget hold of my own work. Am looking for some advice on when i should start advertising and where is best to advertise? Any hints, tips or trickswould come in real handy...

Also, looking to insure a van but amstuggling to find a decent price- im 24 and the van is only a ford escort, p reg but am struggling to find a quote under 900 quid! Thats what i paid for the bloody thing!!!

i don't know if its your age against you but £900 for insurance sounds over the top.

i payed this yr £289 to insure a 07 renault traffic for business that with tool cover etc but it would never cover the valve of whats in their
but then my pl covers my tools etc.

as for yellow pages, thompson etc all ok but keep away from 118, customer street and all these that phone up during the yr asking you if you want to be on their calenders etc all a rip off.

got my insurance from " yes" try them i have escort 55 and its only 450 quid though you are under 25 so may go against you. definately stay away from customer street and yell .com I get a lot of stuff from gumtree.

ok thanks guys, i posted on gumtree yesterday and also something called vivastreet which is the same sort of thing, thinking of sending my little brother out with leaflets??

Try NFU (national farmers union) for van insurance. I was recommended these by a mate and it only cost me £210.
