Doing a llgsc and service on one of these yesterday. Turned it off then when i turned it back on it went mental then died. Anyone else had this? (Was an easy fix, won't post what as on open forum.) just annoying and luckily had an understanding landlord.

Not had it myself but it rings a bell. I'm sure I've heard of others with the issue.

Is it the old type with the twist on and off knob on the right?

If so and that's how you turned it off, unfortunately it's blown the board. They have a fault when they get older and the on off switch spikes the board and blows it.

Had this before, switched off at fuse spur for annual gas service, switched it back on and the pcb had gone. Fortunately a colleague was round the corner with a new board on his van.

Not even exaggerating I have swapped over 20 boards on these. If I'm changing parts on them now I just drain them till they lock out rather than risk turning them off and blowing the board. A good tip is to swap them for the vaillant pcb. Exactly the same just comes in a different box and costs around £40 plus vat cheaper.
