Hi Does anyone know the restsance the gas valve just tested one and there was 1,700 ohms resistance does any one know if this is correct or is it faulty
Thanks

On that boiler on that valve there are two coils on the valve (honeywell 4105 I think) 1700 ohms seems ok but there is two coils-- five pins/terminals - left two pins one coil, right two pins second coil, middle pin is earth

abcott uk for a new one simples😉

From the left you to test between pins 1+2 then pins 4+5 its quite common for the second coil (4+5) to fail - this coil/valve is used on all kinds of heaters from boilers to gas space heaters

Between 1 and 2 it was ol and between 4 and 5 it was ol does that mean the gas valve is faulty or would it be the pcb
the spark igniter was sparking but no flame and then going to lock out so trying to work out if the fault was at the board or gas valve

Where did this come from? there is two coils on this valve not connected in any way not even the neutral - you must make sure that only the coil is tested by disconnecting the plug from the valve otherwise its possible to get a false reading from the other circuits controling the boiler
