i recently fitted a heat only worcester bosch greenstar 15 Ri in a loft after taking out an old back boiler, the pump is on the return to the boiler in airing cupboard, the cold feed from header tank is into return at boiler and vent is off the flow near the boiler and i seem to be getting alot of heat transfer from the header tank and air in the system, will putting the cold feed into the flow help with this?😕

Both pipes should ideally be at the same side of the pump or you will get overpumping or air drawn in depending on which way round.

Your other option provided you have no leaks is to do away with the header tank and convert to sealed system with an expansion vessel.

thankyou very much. i dont often fit vented systems hence the problem pipework.still ive learnt something new today. thanks again!
