Heating control wiring courses

I am AT LAST going gas safe next year 🙂 got training center sorted, lads to do my 200hours with and definitely got the customers

i i want to get away from bathroom installs and be more of a heating engineer. I have s basic understanding of hearing wiring but that's it as I specialise in bathrooms.

So i am after a course to bring my wireing up to standard, being able to chop change repair. Fault find problems with out the educated guess ect
any ideas?

Honeywell do a course that's often recommend but speak to your merchant they my be able to point you in the right direction

Yeah seen the manufacture spasific courses. (I done the aqualisa one very good) think I am after something that covers everything

Think your going to struggle to find a general one as all manufacturers do it a different way but always follow the same process but go take 2 or 3 manufacturer ones and see if you feel you need further training

Both Honeywell & Danfoss run them, almost identical only difference ! you have to pay Honeywell.

TBH, I went on the course recently. (They do them around the country). I particulary wanted to get uba clear on Yplans. It was a reasonably interesting day, but the technical knowledge of the presenters with regard to Y Plan was appalling. To be fair, I don't think they were the normal hosts, but drafted in. But it was a wasted day for me. If I had paid for the course,I would have been demanding my cash back.

OP: As a relative Newbie, you may find it worthwhile as they do cover quite a bit in general terms, although it is a HONEYWELL based day. Sign up for the club ('tis free), and you get your free day out info immediately.

Oh, and the 3 course lunch was excellent!

also get yourself on the baxi/intergas/wb courses to learn a bit of breakdown diagnostics. intergas is more of a flog the boiler day but will give you an insight into repairs and allow you to up the warranty period if you install them at no cost unlike some manufacturers

and buy the 2 books by thisJohn Reginald one for combis and one for central heating in general, they are well written, explain the use of tools ie meters and how things work as well as how to diagnose problems and wire them up in the first place. They cost around £25 each, and will live with you as you get going.
