Baxi combi boiler, have had issues with hot water and no heating now seems to have reversed! Tried turning hot taps on and off (as advised by British gas man) to no avail. Assume it's the diverter that's stuck again but in the opposite position. Is there anything I can do myself to get it sorted? Annual service Not due till 5th Jan so loathe to shell out for someone to come out before then if can help it. I have been shown how to increase pressure in expansion vessel but not sure of this is even related to the overall problem - that's about the extent of my boiler knowledge!! Suggestions and advice please! Thanks

Can get hot water if set to water only... Won't do both heatin and water tho. Hmm decisions decisions - freeze and wash or smell and be warm? Lol

seems like your gona have to get a gas safe registered engineer in earlier before your service date unless you want to freeze and i wouldnt recomend not at this time of the year we dont know when its gona snow e.t.c, from my knowledge with this situation there is nothing you can do Yourself to remedy the fault, how long you had it for ?

Thanks. Last 24 hours the fault started. Had been having intermittent issues with the diverter where hot water ok but no heating on and off for last year or so but this apparently has been replaced, greased and looked at but this is the first time it's stuck with no hot water but heating on ok! Is that jut coincidence? I'm assuming it's all the same problem but stuck in the alternate position?
