Hi

In times gone by, I was a plumber mainly doing sheet lead work. I worked on some of the biggest lead contracts in the UK. I finally had enough of working out in the rain, having blood tests taken and the health risks associated with lead and left the industry. Still got my lead tools and have helped out with lead burning and the non standard lead work such as hollow rolls, turrets, ornamental and cast lead work.
Now I'm back! I'm setting up a mainly bathroom installation company but will be doing general jobbing as well.
Great site guys, glad I found it.

Colin 🙂

Hi system3 and welcome to UKPlumbersForums.co.uk!

When our college class was being taught how to make lead models it was a nightmare, I can clearly recall the lecturer saying "5 or 6 hits with the dressing tool" would be fine, In reality we where battering that tool for hours 😛.

The satisfaction you get when you can lead weld in a nice neat way is amazing, I loved it, not tried it for about 2 years, I dont fancy stuck up on a tenement roof trying to lead weld, I would need at least £300 per day to try lol.

Good luck with the bathroom suites, You will still be getting wet 😀.

regards
Al
