I found this forum whilst completeting my ACS, all done now and looking for new employment after along time in the Army, time for a change (And my time is up anyway!)..........thinking of going down self employment route but could do with a bit more experience, got about six months with the local council. But i am not naive enough to think I know enough yet. I believe i will be ok with Gas Appliances etc but the rest of the plumbing would be s struggle.

find local plumber to work with most plumbers will impart skills to you if they know you are keen to learn,keep learning ,unvented ,heat pumps ,solar,even leadwork it pays to be able to cover all the work a plumber is called on to do.i was same as you 1967 its been good for me i still enjoy being a plumber.good luck
