but find some of the manufacturer's instructions seem as though they are only meant for you professionals :confused

We never read them/we can't read/Is that what they are?

Admittedly there are a few bits of jargon (e.g. check valve) but I find they're quite helpful most of the time.

Hope you enjoy the forum and please ask if you're unsure with things ... we all had to start from somewhere!!
