Help installing a boiler

I Have just been round to quote this job and the builder wants me to put the boiler of 10mm ply that has been fixed over a brick wall to all your experts before ringing worcester up to ask is this allowed ?

cover the ply with paster board first, then you'll have peace of mind

yes is allowed . says somewhere in the MI'S been shown it before by one of the more knowledgeable on here .
