Hi, brand new to the forum. This is literally my first week in business being self employed and this is my very first job! Could have been easier haha!
Spoke to the customer on the phone, going to look at the job tomorrow.
Current setup: Gas fired Aga stove doing h/w & c/h (16 rads & 2 zones underfloor heating), customer is saying its unreliable and has had an engineer out but hasn't been sorted.
Whats required: Customer wants new Worcester greenstar system boiler installed to do the h/w & c/h and have the Aga still in place to use as a cooker and as a back up in case the boiler breaks down.
Can this be done? And how? My initial thoughts were to advise him to ditch having the cooker as a back up and just use it as a standalone cooker (blank the flow & return) but I understand that they need to at least be linked to h/w? Is this right?
So I was thinking perhaps put a twin coil cylinder in, link the Aga to the smaller coil and blank the flow and return from the c/h side? Or do I need to go down the route of installing a neutraliser? Also looked at h2 panels, are the ok to use for 2 gas fired appliances?
Also do I need to take any extra precautions due to there being underfloor heating?
I've had a lot of experience installing c/h systems but virtually none in linking systems together.
Thanks for any help in advance!
Ps My gas safe number is 547820 (not sure if I'm meant to put this here)
