I have a megaflo dd170 that is forever leaking and same part seems to have been replaced at least 3 times in less than 2 years which I was charged just over £200 each time. Just a month after the last repair guarantee ran out, same problem has occurred. Has anyone has similar experience? I have been told the heater itself can only be opened up, service or repair by the manufacturer
Is there any qualified plumber/engineer in Manchester area who could help repair, maintain or advise on my options?

Hi. They have replaced parts number 95606963 coded as EPA TIG WELD BENT/PREM 07 and part number 95606964 coded as EPA TIG WELD STRAIT MEG/PREM07 three times in two years and it seems like a recurring problem

Those part nos are the upper & low immersion elements.
Doesn't sound right if they've both been replaced 3 times in 2 years.
were the actual elements leaking or just the rubber seals?

Ensure you have the correct spec immersions! They are titanium on the direct version, but not on the indirect version, the parts look identical but are not, titanium ones have a 5 year warranty!

anyone one with a G3 qualification can maintain and service yor Megaflo also, not just heat team!

Sorry for the late reply and thank you guys for your response. The heater itself is 7 years old and it's for water and I think economy 7 overnight heating. The property is in Manchester so I'm looking for local qualified plumber to check it out and do a service contract

Should of asked to see the old ones yea. They come with a rubber seal don't they? Surely that's replaceable without the immersion. Just the labour time it takes to drain down.
