I have a BIASI Riva compact combi boiler. It is 5 years old and was fitted in the property when I moved in 3 years ago. I got cover from SSE and had two PCB's changed in the fiorst two years. In the last 3 months I have had them out 15-20 times regarding not firing up, sticky air pressure switch, expansion chamber. The last time I had a different guy who noticed that the last time they fitted the wrong PCB and would explain why the fan was running constantly . We have had the right one fitted but now it keeps failing to ignite in the morning indication faulty air pressure switch. If I reset it and switch it off an don again it will fire up but whent he engineers come out they can't see any fault. Is the fact they have run it for 18 months with the wrong PCB a contributing factor to it now behaving so badly. I'ts making me go mad and I'm thinking of charging SSE rent as they are in my house more than me. Any advice please.

Advice re what? Your paying for a service tell them to get it sorted. Or tell them you will get an independant gsr out and charge them the costs. But it is a Biasi.

As for advice re a gas appliance, its a no no on the site.

If it only does it when it's stone cold book an appointment and leave the boiler off until they arrive then hopefully it will do it then.

Some Combis are good- ish - some are poor -

probably one of the worst - badly designed
poorly made and just carp

If you find a white dog poo - that would be worth putting in a case...

I actually did see one once, around 25 years ago or so. It had been sat outside for so long it appeared to have oxidised and turned white on the outside. They do exist but in the last 25 years I have never seen another one like it.

Hi stewy. I'm a engineer for SSE. Book an appointment with cust services, but ask for the lead engineer to visit. Where are you based

Kids today haven't lived until they've picked up an unusual white 'pavement pebble'. Then dropped it pretty sharpish when that distinctive odour reveals the unpleasant truth. :hand:

Even better pick it up and take a bite.very bland as I remember definitely needs a bit of HP sauce to give it a bit of taste
