To whom this may concern,

My name is Matthew McCullough and I am currently studying technical certificate 6129 in plumbing and heating engineering which once I have passed I will gain NVQ level 3.

In order to pass my NVQ I am required to undergo a work placement so that I can get vital on the job experience and so that an assessor can come and observe me work in order to sign me off when he/she sees that I am competent enough.
Having a work placement I feel will enable me to put what I already know and have been learning into practice. I was therefore wondering if there were any vacancies within your company for a full time trainee. If not just a voluntary position for once a week would be much appreciated anything to enable me to get some experience outside of the practical centre. Anything at all would be a massive help right now. I feel that I have a lot to offer your company in the form of hard work, commitment to learning and reliability.
I have just sat my first six exams and these were all passed successfully first time. I have also passed all of my practical assessments so far.

The exams that I have undertaken so far are:

Health and Safety
Common plumbing processes
Key plumbing principles
Cold water systems
Hot water systems
Water Regulations
Sanitation Systems
Energy efficiency
Central heating

The practical assessments that I have passed so far include pipe bending, basin and cistern installation, full bathroom suite installation including radiators, sanitation pipework, guttering and airing cuprboard installtion(CWSC and Cylinder with all relevant pipework).
As you are aware I still have a lot more to do and learn which is why I am writing to you for any help you may have in order for me to achieve in this career.
Once I am fully qualified I will have all the relevant qualifications to be a fully trained plumbing and heating engineer. I will also be trained in sheet lead, Part P electrical installation, power flushing, solar panel heating, under floor heating and all gas work.

Many Thanks,

Mr Matthew McCullough
