Help new boiler time or repairable?

Afternoon been to do a LL GSC today

vaillant ecotec plus 630.

Condense tube has come away from the bottom of the hex and basically it would appear that the boiler has been condensing into itself for god knows how long.

Badly corroded floor of boiler gas pipe to valve badly rusted corroded.

Im saying AR as it passes every single test safely but only a matter of time before something gives. Foam on inside of door is very very brittle as is the seal however no spillage




Would you you agree with AR and do you think it's fixable? I'm thinking not!!!!

I think you're bang on with AR.

As for whether it's repairable, for a private customer I'd recommend replacement. With it being a landlord they might be wanting a price for repair.

Personally I think it would work out cheaper for a new boiler then to replace the damaged parts and clean the case up a bit. I'd be pushing in the new boiler direction.

Thanks fella. That was my first instinct. Always tricky when you come across so much that might potentially be wrong. Some times it's just best to start afresh

its fixable but costly prob same price as a new one and with vaillants if more than 3 parts gone new boiler price for

no it wouldn't and good old alu internal flue 😀 had been serviced once only got called out because the tape was starting to peal again 😀

It's legal to be that rusty providing u cannot shove a screwdriver through it. Never seen a valliant case that's been eaten through. Seen many a Worcester 240

It was the corroding gas pipe that I was more concerned with really. Crispy, and that goes for the wiring

Had a similar one 2 weeks ago, not rotted through the casing but changed the gas pipe as a precaution

The plastic nut which attaches the condense pipe to the hex split, if this is the case, I'd be ID'ing it as POC will be leaking through the nut.

And ye, if it's just surface rust, then not AR. As previously said, test it with a screwdriver.
