hi to anyone who can help.myself and my partner moved into a house on the 1st dec 08 with oil fired heating in it.we have had problem after problem with it,it is a grandee combi boiler but we believe the combi part has been taken off it!!!.it makes noises, smells of oil, uses loads of oil in fact since the 1st dec we have had to order 1750 litres of oil helllllllp.it has no thermostat to control it,the timer doesnt work,it has meant to have been serviced ha ha,it has a sticker saying serviced in 2000 so god knows how old it is.we really are desperate for some advice as to why it shuld be using this much oil and realistically how much we should be using.we live in a two bedroomed farmhouse with solid walls many thanks

search oftec, find a local engineer, recommended by them, call him and get it sorted.
the cost of the engineer will easily be covered by fuel savings. from your original post it sounds like there are too many issues to be talked about here - an engineer is definetly reqd. on site.

good luck
