help with pipes part two

I take it its the 1" 1/2 and copper water pipes that you are wanting to hide. And it looks like the 4" for the wc is inder the flood.

It looks like boxing in the pipes is the easyest option. If you really dont want want that its possibly to take the bath waste under the floorboards and connect it into the 4" pipe with a clamp on boss. thats quite a bit of work though.

I wouldn't do that unless you are going to suspend them under the joists. From the photos, you would have to check out the joists and the 1 1/2 pipe depth would weaken the joist and would be contrary to building regs. The only way is to box them in.

Boxing in the pipes is definatly the best option. but if i was installing a very fancy bathroom and it was needing to be done. it is possible to take them under the floor. Where the waste pipe is loacated is well within the boring zones.

your only supposed to chip into 1/8th of the joist, this would be well against regs to put the bath waste through joists it would also make them very weak which would be a very very stupid thing to do seeing as when the bath is full and somebody is in it it will be very very heavy for the floor.

The boring zone is between 0.25 & 0.4 the span of the joist. e.g.
13ft x 0.04 = 5.2ft or 5’21/2’’
13ft x 0.25 = 3.25ft or 3’3’’
Depth of joist, say, 9’’
maximum diameter of hole
is 9’’ x 0.25 = 2 1/4’’
Your joists look only to be 6" x 2", therefore 1 1/2 hole would be maximum size.
I don't think you have the option of going through the joists.
Your house looks an older property and probably joists are 18" centres.
Don't fancy the prospect of threading 1 1/2 pipe through them.

No probs mate was just giving the info. I would be boxing them in.
The h&c feeds along the wall could be lowered to make the boxing less obtrusive.
