Need some expert advice, looked at a system has brown sludge everywhere, the system is 6 months old and shocking tradesmen have done this... The system plantroom is in the basement and all rads are above, everyday air is causng air locks everywhere, the pipework goes up and down so much id need 100 air vents if this was to be sorted.

My question is where is the likely causes air enters the system???

Does bad inhibiting cause gasses which may be the case???

my though is flush and clean with specialist company re treat and then see how the air is, if still the case maybe get flamco or somebody to come reccommend air elinimator somewhere ...

does this sound fair start anyone any other thoughts please help, its doing my head in..!

is this a sealed system?has loop been left open?brown sludge normally indicates airration ie fresh water and oxygen constantly taking place

Gas man, yes this is a sealed system, the loop is shut, fresh water and oxygen must be mixing, the system has a pressurisation unit fitted which tops the sealed system up if required but the problem is the air. If we bleed the system all day the following day again comes air locks. Can this untreated system cause gasses ???

It is possible that the brown sludge is a microbiological growth and yes this would cause gas to be produced.

I would get the system flushed and chemically treated as quickly as possible as there is likely to be corrosion occurring.

Talk to Fernox or Sentinel for the best treatment
