I know there are quite a few ex armed forces personnel amongst us so I thought I'd let those that don't know; there is a discount card available through the MOD's Defence Discount Service. You may also be interested in the HM Armed Forces Veterans Badge which is free to anyone who has served.

The Blue Light Card is also available for forces/emergency personnel - including inshore rescue workers, nurses etc which is more widely recognised.

Some really good money-saving opportunities available if you're interested.

20% discount on monthly vodaphone charges, if you get a new contract or within 30 days of doing so, only found out today coz of my RNLI status. Never bothered with trying for ex armed forces discounts as this country tends to forget it's exservicemen very quickly.

Both my cards arrived this morning, the reason I also got the Blue Light Card is because of that very reason, there are times when people show their DDS card and the person at the till will look confused but upon being shown the BLC they'll say something like "Aah, you're in the emegency services, are you a policeman then?"
The best is when they say they give student discount but not armed forces personnel.

Well worth a look round those websites I've linked to up top though, the offers go on and on, holidays, cruises, thousands of pounds off new cars, suit hire, clothes stores etc etc.

Iceland used to issue their own 10% discount card which anyone else in your household could also use but have now stopped, must have been too popular.
