Hi i got called to a house where hot water was coming from cold main tap in kitchen for about 30 secs (very hot water) and then goes off cold again. Boiler didnt fire during turning on.

Funny thing is ALL pipes/taps/rads in house are LIVE with 1.5volts running through them :s .. called a sparky to come see but what you think is causing the cold getting hot? is it related to the power?

boiler is a worcester cdi

Sounds like nev neutral to earth voltage . There must be a short somewhere in the system. Not sure if that would cause that amount of heat but it can't be coincidence.

Did you isolate the cold inlet on the boiler and check the water stopped flowing through the hot tap? Just wondering if it's crossed somewhere.

Never heard of the electric thing though, would be good to fond out so keep us posted.

hi guys it was a short on the dishwasher that was sending signal down the earth. Earth into old property was very poor (not sure what that means could be wrong size or something) and was not earthing properly. Problem with hot water in cold pipe disappeared after resizing earth and fixing the short. One for the old experience books
