Hello everyone.

I want to permanently fit a pressure gauge to the schrader valve on a hot water expansion tank
.
I want to fit an isolation valve first to the schrader valve then fit a gauge to that valve.

The idea is to just open the valve when you want to check the pressure and leave it closed by default.

Any suggestions vis a vis the valve and the guage?

Cheers

Can I ask why ?
Elderly lady friend's system.
She lives 15 miles away.
I normally check the HW EV pressure at the schrader with a hand held pump.
Of course I have to be there in order to check it.
It would be useful if she could just turn a valve on and off once or twice a year to check it and
tell me over the phone what the pressure is.
It would save me a 30 mile round trip if it doesn't need attention.

You would have to turn and drain the cold water to assess the pressure

She's ok with that bit.
Mains stopcock and hot taps are easy access.

She's quite handy.

Mains stopcock and hot taps are easy access.

She's 5' 2" and would have to stand on a stool to reach the EV Schrader.

It can be a bit awkward even for me trying to connect the gauge to it.

But if she could just turn a tap on or a lever.

It's just a thought.

I haven't spoken to her about it.

I'm just mulling it over from a feasibility viewpoint.

I can't find any suitable adapters / valves anywhere.
