Hi, we have just moved house, and replaced the old oil boiler with a new one. There is also a back boiler with open fire.We find that when we use the oil heating the water is luke warm, also when we use the fire the water is also luke warm. Is there something at the hot press i should be adjusting.
Thank you,
Tommy

There should be a Dunsley Equaliser or similar (google for description) in the system. If you trace the flow and return pipes of the boilers they should end here. It's usually a steel squat cylinder painted with hammerite, often sitting underneath a copper water cylinder. My guess is that its choked with debris.

If the system is more recent you could have a twin coil water cylinder.

If you're in a hard water area, the cylinder could be scaled up and requires descaling.

Are the feed & Expansion cistern(s) full of water?

Alternatively there could be a stuck anti-gravity valve
