My old mans got a Valliant combi, and the hot water comes and goes(water still flows just cool, central heating ok).The unit is about 8 years old I think and the whole house is fed via a combimate unit.Is it possibly the secondary heater exchanger requires cleaning?Maybe there are too many possibilities/variables!!
Any thoughts?

Thats the one actually dont no where ecotec came from!!!

your post said heating ok this has no effect on the dhw is it a turbomax by any chance?
I was just thinking that the diverter switched from flow to rads to flow across dhw heat exchanger. As you can prob tell don't know much about boilers!!I thought there was water flow switch and that kicked in pump around main exchanger and thought it would send it around rads if diverter prob?
