How do I drain the system?

First of all hello as this is my first post!

I had a Worcester Bosch 35CDi fitted approximately 3-4 years ago and to be honest, wasn't that impressed with the installer, although he was CORGI registered. At the time I asked him to replace our kitchen radiator with a higher output radiator. There was a drain point on the bottom of the pipework leading into the radiator, which he completely removed leaving no easy way to drain the system down.

How do I go about draining the system down? Do I have to get water everywhere by cracking a joint open?

if no drain off point isolate boiler/close valves to an accesible rad and you will need to adapt a fitting and hose pipe and attatch to one end of valves and open valve
then cut and solder a new drain off into pipe
get a plumber

Yep, I see what you mean. Once drained down I could fit a radiator valve with drain incorporated, or cut and solder in as you suggest. Thanks!

If you have no drain off you can get a bolt on one now,just bolt on two halfs around pipe and srew in drain cock and it cuts into pipe ,like the washing machine cut ins you can get,add hose and away you go,diy or plumbers merchants have them
once drained you can change for compresion tee with drain if you wish
