Same as only cracking the tap open far enough to operate the flow switch then opening fully once hot ?

I get that, but if the water is running slower won`t it have to run for longer?

It might run longer but at a lower flow rate therefore saving water?
same as the combisave.

flow is restricted until set temp of around 43 degrees is passing through the valve then it will fully open.
water saving is obvious, gas saving is on the idea that the combi is firing at full gas but with less water passing through the heat exchanger, therefore the heat inside the boiler is reached quicker.

A £25 average savings on water and gas on an annual calculation. pppffttttt.
I may as well just carry on using my current configuration/setup, then just decide to not go to McDonalds for 5 days in a year. That will easily save me £25 a year

These calculations also fail to take into account the changed behaviour that is caused (unintentionally) by such hardware.
Cleaning up in the kitchen? Maybe leave the tap running when you might otherwise have turned it off, so it doesn't go through that annoying low-flow cycle again.
Going to the bathroom? Turn the tap on and leave it running whilst you have a pee, so you aren't irritated by the low-flow cycle when you want to wash your hands.
In both cases what was intended to save energy and water ends up costing more of both.
Im not a fan, despite the potential profit from sales.
