Any body seen or had an experience with hydro turbines? Just a thought as iv had a few people over the last few months asking about them. Seems to be the obvious thing to have one if you have a strong running stream etc in your property

my grandad has one, he had it cos he has a rapid flowing streams running through his land , he has a few acres of land surrounding his house so it seemed a sensible idea

Well i went and looked at one today and it perfect for a turbine. With about 10m of head pressure and plenty of flow. Been doing some research and found that navitron actually do them. Looking at £1600 for the turbine, and around £1000 for a Grid-Tie Inverter (3phase), so u can sell the electricity back to the grip. Im assuming they would pay you what you pay for electricity, around 14p per KW. That would earn you over £1200 per year.

They are going to change the law, so that they have to pay you for the electricity, because all they do now is reduce your bill.

I don`t think they will pay you what you pay, they might just pay you the same amount per Kw that they pay for the electricity.
