I have a icos ideal boiler in a new house plumbed with 10mm flexi hose, i have removed a radiator and capped the ends but now my boiler wont fire up and the pump/motor in the airing cupboard is getting really hot and making a noise, by doing this have i stopped the continual water flow or something ??

Many thanks, but sorry to sound dumb and due to the fact that there is a mass of valves and pipes connecting expansion tanks etc whereabouts would i find the bleed valve ??

On the pump (probably grundfos) you will see a large chrome disc with a slotted screw. Turn this anticlockwise with a large slotted screwdriver until a little water is released. This should start the pump circulating again. It is the bleed screw on the pump you are looking for!
Hpoe this helps. Dont forget to re tighten once water is released.

Thanks very much will try tomorrow as little one is asleep in the room at the mo, will update you tomorrow.

These boilers hate air, we could spend up to an hour trying to get them to fire up.

Expansion tank is showing 0 bar pressure, jusy got back from work and researching how to re-pressureise, will attempt that tomorrow....

re-pressurized using filling loop and alls well.
