Hello all, I've just had an ideal logic plus 30 installed in my loft, replacing an existing vented system. The boiler works fine, until you put the front outer cover on, then it fires for a short time and cuts out on flame failure, remove the cover and it works perfectly?

I understand that it requires an air/gas mix to work properly, but why does the front cover stop this? It has a rubber seal around the edge so would asume it was air tight, therefore eliminating the theory it is being starved of air, I always thought the inlet air came down the outer part of the flue?

Can anybody shed any light or offer any advise?

Thanks for reading

This plumbing forum will not provide advice to anybody with regards to boiler repairs or any other form of gas plumbing without you first providing us with your Gas Safe Registration number in a thread - for very obvious reasons. If you're not qualified to touch gas, you should stay well clear of trying to!

Stop using this boiler now.

I'm not touching anything to do with gas, I've had it installed by a gas registered plumber who has since gone home, leaving the boiler working but without the front cover fitted. I was just wondering if anybody had suffered the same problem and what the possible cause might be.

the front cover stops the fumes from entering the room he should not have left this off .get him back . if the boiler is new then he should sort it.
turn it off until its sorted its dangerous

Yep. We know exactly what the problem is.

And you, my friend, have broken the law and put your family's lives in danger by removing the case. It is there for a reason.

Stop tampering, turn it off and call in a competent gsr before you kill yourself.
