Hi. Can someone please tell me how to take an Ideal Standard filller/float mechanism apart please? The filler keeps lightly leaking from the top (by the arm) and also leaks into pan constantly.

The arm/float and filler is all one mechanism with the siphon to the right of it. (I would post a pic but don't think I'm allowed...)

After looking at it, I'm not sure how it comes apart and don't want to just try and break stuff!

Thanks a lot 🙂

It really depends which one you have!

Some you can remove the top part and some you have to remove completely, either way make sure you isolate the cold supply beforehand.

If you can then a photo would help a lot.

hi james lord welcome to the forums. if you would like to send the picture to me by private message i can then post it for you.

Ch4 plumbing: I think the water inlet filler/float is one complete unit. At the base of the cistern there looks like a lock nut but no lock nut under the toilet, is that normal?

The inlet fills up fine but then after about 10 minutes the top by the arm starts to leak a slight amount of water.

Can I buy any new water inlet or does it need I be the exact copy of the one I have?

thanks.

Hi Guys.

ive found out that the flush valve is the problem. I've took it off and looked at the rubber seal and it doesn't look damaged?

Werid thing is, when I've turned the water off and took washer off and then placed back on, and then filled up its ok and the level stays ok. Soon as I flush and it fills up to the line then after about 5 minutes you can see the level dropping then the filling valve kicks in.

if I don't flush after taking it off then it's ok?

Any ideas?

thanks.

Either change the washer or change the whole mech.
Order the parts direct with ideal standard.
