hi guys i am a sparky over from the dark side
came home today to find the house cold
stat calling pump running but boiler dead
its and ideal classic 250ff 12yrs old fully serviced
took the cover off to see if it was live and spotted the over heat reset button was out so reset it and its been back on 3hrs now and seems ok
any ideas why this could of happened😕😕

sludge in boiler, air in system! low water content, has it been drained down lately?

if it happens again then you can fault find, sometimes it just happens, with no reason. more likely a temporary power cut, reducing circulation to nowt. it dosnt take ten minutes to hit overheat temp.

thanks for the replies its ony done it once so far
the last work done on the system was when the thermal store came out and the unvented went in this was april
also had additional rad fitted in august
its been fine till today
