Hi, I'm a newb around these parts. I'd like to be a plumber but am a bit confused about which course/path is the best way to go, especially as I'm female and nearly 26, so signed up in the hope that I'll get some good advice. I was directed to these forums after a particularly nasty encounter with people from Train 4 Trade Skills today, which is also making me a lot more wary about how to go about getting into the trade, so please be nice to me 🙂

if i was you id try british gas for an apprentiship they fall over backwards for suitable women or so im told also its probably the best path for women to lean towards the gas side i can never understand why theres not more women boiler engineers

Got a woman gas engineer round my way. She did fast track, and is doing realy well.
99% of her work is for woman.
It must make them feel safe having a woman do the work.
so i think it would be a good band wagon to jump on.
