immersion heater stat

Just fitted a emmersion heater stat i get the humming but also crackling in side the tank.
any advice would be great thanks jpb

A little hum or crackling sound from the cylinder is normal,just like a elec kettle boiling. Should be fine as long as there is no water passing from the immersion to the stat, you will soon know when the consumer unit trips.
