Hi all, just read a thread on old 3/4"pipe and jointing to new 22mm. Someone said to use a 3/4" cone? to a 22mm compression or a 3/4" to 22mm end feed coupler. The coupler ive used but not came across a "cone"? Can anyone explain what this is? Can you not just use a 3/4" olive with a 22mm comp with ptfe?

It is an olive with different bevels on each side. The pointy end goes into the 22mm compression fitting.

they do an olive which is 3/4 center and 22mm outer which you use in any compression fitting you will not get it to seal using tape

Interesting, i'll have a look for these!

Thanks all for your replys

Can only find either 22mm or 3/4" olives anywhere!?

Hi, I think you will find it a colloquialism. Olive and cone being the same thing, just depends on what part of the country you are in as to the term you use.

Is he talking about when you flare the end of a pipe to put in a manipulative fitting?
