Installing a washing machine in a cellar

I'm considering relocating my washing machine out of the kitchen and into the cellar. There's both electric and water services down there but not sure what I could to remove the waste water. I'm guessing any drains are located higher than the discharge point on a washing machine - can the waster water be raised effectively?

And is there a device to protect the cellar from flooding should anything go wrong? (out of sight down there and a flood could go on for ages)

Wm waste is pumped anyway, so there may be a way to not use a saniflow. Get a plumber in to take a look.

I think saniflos are expensive for what they are. There are plenty of other options out there

Some question mark over Saniflo's suitabilty to remove hot soapy water from a washing machine despite being marketed as one...
So, any alternatives?

Personally I wouldnt put a washing machine in a cellar unless there was no other option. Its just making a simple working machine more complecated with added expense and on going repairs for no real gain. Other options are to use different manufacturers of the same basic machine.

we put one in a cellar but put it above the dryer on a frame this allowed us to get higher than the drain level the pump in some machines will lift above the normal height but expect shorter pump life

Lifting the washer is possible although this will still leave the top of the unit below street level.

So far I seem to have Saniflo as my only option if the pump in the machine itself wont lift the waste water?

street level isnt relevant its the level of your drains that matters the could be lower than the basement anyway or half way up the basement wall
