Hi,
Hopefully someone can shed some light as my plumber seems in the dark and unable to help, before I pay another plumber I'd at least like to have some idea of whats going on as I know some people will take you for a ride if you are clueless.
We have a Greenstar 28i Combi, CH works fine, DHW works most of the time, but sometimes when DHW demand is required, the boiler fires, pressure gauge increases, sometimes up to around 3 bar, boiler cuts out and only cold water flows.
Afterwards the boiler will make some clunking noises and the pressure gauge will jump around, but slowly release the pressure, and the DHW will work again. I'm assuming the clunking is pressure relief valve as the final system pressure after this event is lower than before, and the system needs topping up.
Any ideas what would cause this? My instinct tells me perhaps the diverter valve is broken. Can someone recommend a good plumber in the Bristol area who is good with these boilers and not too expensive.

Edit: Thought I better add the plate heat exchanger has just been replaced by plumber as he thought that was blocked and causing the pressure, but its no different, also pump was suspected but i said as the CH works perfectly that I don't think it was that.
