Hi guy and dolls,

just wondering what you lot are using if anything for work. I know tech spec between the 2 so not looking for that sort of info im looking for how you got on with it after your purchase.

how suitable were the apps that you got were there better ones on the android platform then ios?

Its main use will be job sheets, cp12's, e-mail and photos. fed up with tatty bits of paper all over the vans plus some of the contracts im covering require alot of data protection so no customer details visible through the van windows etc, also will be handy as i can email the cp12 to the agents rather then having to run around to different agents paying to park and all that bore!
would also be handy for ordering parts online and getting access to makers details and missing manuals

so as i say am interested in how you found it after buying it and what seems to be the more accessible platform for us.

thanks in advanced

I use the gas checker app on an Ipad, using it since July and never had a problem.

Costs around £20 a year plus vat I think but has totally changed the way i work, no longer filling out loads of paperwork everyday.

Customer feedback has been very positive, a lot of them when they receive the email they save it into a folder in my name !!

Phones at home and computers are all apple so was always going to be an ipad.

Look at the Griffin survivor case as well, bulletproof.

Do you have an I phone or android?
i have I pad and phone so apps work and sync with each other. You can then use your i phone at work then it will sync later when you have good Internet .
best apps for me are
gaschecker
invoice to go.
Gas rate.

i have htcs and sonys but going for the google nexus as it cheaper than the ipad,

I got a ipad from ideal but gave it to my misses as she is a self employed hairdresser as uses it for her books.

lots of apps etc i have gas calcs on my htcs phones, my mate using his tablet to send invoices etc and landlord certs his mileage and when he is stuck look online, he has wifi he links the table to is phone and using the phone as a wifi hotspot.

i will use mine for quoting as well, as its a nightmare looking at jobs and weeks later you forget what you need lol

Got an iPad with a lifeproof case to keep it protected as far as reasonable, works really well at keeping the wet and dust out. Use the iPad as me satnav, email, notepad, radio, camera and photo display, got boiler manuals on there, get me internet on it at work - come think of it, I'd be lost without it these days. Don't have certificates on there yet, but I'm led to believe my firms gonna be doing something along those lines, which I hope will do away with all that triplicate nonsense. Got a nexus at home for the kids, I dunno if they do different screen sizes etc in the nexus, but ours is definitely smaller than the iPad, and I know if I used it for work I'd be cussing about constantly zooming in etc, although I guess if it was a bit smaller, it'd fit in a big pocket a bit easier which of course would have its advantages. The case I got is the nuud thingy, with no screen protector, but I'm a bit torn as to whether to put one on or not. No scratches yet, but if me phones anything to go by, it's only a matter of time.
