Kinder Oasis KF100

hi there, hope some one can help me. I have a kinder oasis kf100 fire and everything works fine untill the fire warms up...then it just seems to turn off and will only turn back on when the fire has cooled somewhat. Could this be a faulty thermostat?

i only ask as the gas plumber who came said i need a whole new fire? that cant be right can it?

I worked on an oasis recently looked like a straight forward spark ignition replacement ended up being a PCB so it depends if the guy that came round knows much about them. I am no expert on these fires but I do know from my limited experience of them that parts are a pain to get and are expensive. You may not have the same model as i worked on, it had a remote control etc.
