Is it just the cold side if there needed? Can imagine the tank feed hot would struggle to flow though a check valve
 
If your unsure and is tank hot and mains cold put one on the hot just incase
 
And fitting without is a no go? The one that's in at moment mixes in the body I think and has no check valves on the pipework
 
Fit it without and see where water Comes out of spout if different place then it's OK if not then add check valve. I don't think the plumbing police will arrest you

Yes if it does it is not mixing in tap. Another way is fit tails to tap and take a mouth of water and blow it down each tail to see. Flow will be poor on hot as tap needs 0.3 bar 3 meter head of water and I bet hole in flexis is small.

One of the main benefits of the Level 3 is (as you rightly said in your previous posts) that it includes the Water Regs course which had you acquired this in your previous 8 years as a plumber you would of be able to answer your own question.

Does that sound a tad harsh ? well sorry but I do think it strange how some can work as a Plumber without having a working knowledge of the Law surrounding what they do for a living.
 
Would be looking very carefully at the MI's to see if the tap is even WRAS approved

Thanks pretty sure it mixes in the tap body as the spout is just a single circular tube.
 
Any advice please? I have always worked on new builds so been balanced supplies of a combi or unvented hot water with balanced cold.

So what protection is required (installed) on those un-vented systems then, where there is a chance of hot water (cat 2) & cold water (cat1) mixings ?

It is the same for your mixer taps as there could be cross contamination between the two.
