Hi All
Here is my kitchen sink waste setup:
https://1drv.ms/f/s!AutS6uK5ubo1hvt6sdHMJIOWijxJXg
I want to make more efficent use of the space by trying to my the P trap out of the way.
Can I take the P trap off and place it on the pipe along the back wall right near where the pipe exists the building (so basically the U shape is facing front on rather than sideways as is now) - then just run the pipes from the basins sort of backwards and downwards? I presuem I just need to ensure that the water falls down gradually.
I have tried to show this by use of red and blue lines here:

Does anyone know why right underneath the basin there is a 'nut' and then another 'nut' directly under it connecting a short bit of pipe? Is thos so the pipes can be joined or because the joint at the basin is a different one to the standard plumbing ones? I was thinking of getting rid of the 2nd nut and putting an elbow of somesort so I could divert the water backwards to the wall as soon as possible without it going too low.
Finally, I am havign some problems with the wahsing machine joint leaking - if I was to get rid of the wahsing mahcine connection that is already there and put a normal pipe in and do it so the grey pipe goes down the 40mm waste pipe - can I just extend it back as shown by the purple line? Is there a certain height it needs to go up? I am also presuming I will need somesort of special P trap or put the joint abother the P trap with the basins.
Bit like this:

But obiously the other joints will also be at the P trap.
